Le Planet in Fontvielle

Last year we had planned an evening at this lovely family-owned restaurant in the center of town, in a more residential neighborhood than most. As we pulled in, my son got sick and we had to turn around and go home. We never returned until this week.

A reservation is definitely required as it was full with one other American couple, and the remaining patrons were French. Outside the seating is only for about 36, while tables remained inside.

The menu is a set three=course meal, price dependent on which menu you order from. D. had gnocchi as an appetizer while I had a tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad. Both were finely prepared and presented beautifully. For the main course, D. had a beef in a pepper sauce, while I had a duck breast. Both plates came with roasted potatoes and zucchini, again, well prepared and beautifully presented. Also, the portions are large, so Avril ate well too, and they were quite kind to her as we experience at most restaurants here.

Dessert was a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, again well prepared and presented.

For the price, the location, the atmosphere, we will be returning.

POssibly a piece of cake for Rudy, next time.
One year, I believe it was my 39th birthday, the refrigerator door didn't quite close!..and my awesome chocolate cake got scoffed by the Beagle.
Nope! he didn't get sick.
There was enough butter creame for the boy to hide the chocolate from his stomach:)...he's got a gut of steel.

Keep enjoying the local fare!
